Keepin’ Things Real: Responding to Christmas - Jesus
December 24, 2010Jesus is Immanuel (the with us God) - Matt. 1:23, Isaiah 7:14
Jesus is our Shepherd - Matt 2:6
Jesus is our King - Matt. 2:2, Luke 1:32
Jesus is the Son of God - Luke 1:35
Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6
Jesus is the Holy One - Luke 1:35
Jesus is God in a human suit
Who, being in very nature[God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! (Phil 2:6-8)
Jesus is the image of an invisible God - Col. 1:15
Jesue is the fullness of God - Col. 1:19
Jesus is the radiance of God's Glory and the exact representation of God's nature (Heb 1:3)
And that's why
Jesus is our Savior - Luke 2:11
And that's why
The purpose and power of Christmas is that God's glory has come to earth
through the birth of HIS son.
And that's why
The birth of Christ is all about God putting his redemptive plan, chosen before the creation of the world (1 Peter 1:20) into action.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)
And that's why the birth of Christ demands a life like
Mary who responded to Christmas through submission and
Joseph who responded to Christmas through obedience and
The Shepherds who responded to Christmas through action and
The Magi who responded to Christmas through sacrifice
SO HOW WILL YOU RESPOND TO THE CHRIST OF CHRISTMAS?
MERRY CHRISTMAS,
DALE AND JENA
